HEA's 2010 Conference
This year's conference will be held in San Antonio, Texas, on Columbus Day weekend (Saturday-Monday, October 9-11, 2010). There'll be lots of support, new people to meet, old friends to visit with, stories, sharing, laughter and a few tears, plus real Texas barbeque! The signup form will be online soon.

Exciting News...eBay's Giving Works

HEA is now officially registered as a charitable organization through eBay's “Giving Works” program. This means that people can list items on eBay and have the money from the sale go to HEA. People can also donate directly and easily by clicking a button which goes through PayPal.

For any eBay items or donations made on HEA's behalf, eBay issues a tax receipt directly to you. If you donate 100% of your auction’s sale price, you get a 100% refund on the listing fees so it’s free for you to post the auction! HEA has their own page on the eBay, which you can see if you go to:

Click on the tabs:

  • “Buy” = This will show a list of all the ebay auctions currently running that will support HEA.
  • “Sell” = This is where you can click if you want to list something on eBay for HEA.
  • “Donate” = This is where you click to make a quick and simple donation to HEA through PayPal.

Chris Arnold tested this out with the first donation and it was very easy and fast and he got a tax receipt instantly (not sure if he can use it in Canada but no big deal).
